Ragging is totally Prohibited in the University/Institutions, and anyone found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging, whether actively or passively, or being a part of a conspiracy to promote ragging, is liable to be punished in accordance with the Regulations as framed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) vide Gazette Notification No. F.1-16/2007 (CPP-II) dated 17.6.2009 of the Govt. of India and other Regulating Councils as well as under the provisions of any penal law for the time being in force.

Regulations for Elimination of Ragging shall be applicable not only to the University and its institutions or any part thereof, including, but not limited to, the Departments, constituent units, Colleges, Centers of Studies and all its premises, whether academic, residential, playgrounds, or canteen, whether located within the campus or outside, and in all means of transportation of students, whether public or private, accessed by students for the pursuit of their studies in such institutions.
